Do you believe in ghosts?

Just a short distance from Dead Man's Hollow,  there is another place that has recently become the focus of the paranormal research community.  This location is the peaceful landscape of the Calvary and Sacred Heart Cemeteries in Port Vue Borough.

Throughout the years, there have been numerous sightings of  an apparition on the pastoral grounds.  It has been said that cemetery visitors occassionally catch a glimpse of a woman wandering among the weathered tombstones that line the edge of each property.  Since this 'individual' always appears in white colored clothing,  many of the borough's residents began referring to the quiet stranger as the White Lady.  Some eyewitnesses have even made attempts to approach the mysterious woman.  Of course, the results always seem to end with the figure keeping her distance or vanishing into thin air whenever someone gets too close.

So who is Port Vue's White Lady and why does she roam the neighboring cemeteries?  Some believe that the answer to that question lies within the location of the sightings.  Since the apparition frequently appears next to the smaller tombstones, the local residents believe that it is the spirit of a young girl who is buried in one of the plots.  Others say that the ghost is actually the young girl's mother.  Still, there are some people who are convinced that neither theory is correct.  They insist that the White Lady is really the ghost of an elderly  Port Vue woman who froze to death in the 1960s while walking home during a terrible snowstorm.  Regardless, the White Lady apparition continues to surprise unsuspecting visitors during the day and the night.

The image above was captured by local photographer John Barna and  featured in The Daily News nearly ten years ago.  Could this be Port Vue's White Lady?  Or is it just a hoax?  The article below accompanied the questionable photograph.
